Live Gohst Shrimp and Bloodworms

I have been feeding my cichlids ghost shrimp for years. They do not carry any sort of disease that would be harmful to your Flowerhorn. What I do is get a 2 small pails and an air stone, fill the first pail with some tank water, take a fine net and pour the bag of fish store water while straining the ghost shrimp. Place the ghost shrimp into the pail with the tank water and air stone. I throw a chunk of frozen cyclopeeze in with the ghost shrimp and let them feast for an hour on that. You are essentially "gut loading" the ghost shrimp with cyclopeeze. You can use any food you like, I use cyclopeeze seeing its rather hard to get larger fish to eat without making a huge mess.

As far as live bloodworms go, are you feeding live blackworms or bloodworms? We have alot of fishstores and I rarely see live bloodworms available. Live blackworms are a great way to put size on a fish quickly and a great spawning tool in my experience. Just make sure the worms you are getting a clean and healthy and always rinse them before putting them into your tank.
