Lighting was only 1w/gal. Notice how the plants were placed high upon the rocks , since they are near the surface they got good amount of light.
Stocked the tank heavily to ensure sufficient nitrates. Avoided fertile substrate and stem plants.
This was an experiment to test the concept of least maintenace planted tank.
I tore it down after 2 years.
All the ferns were attached nicely to the stones , they went straight to my friends planted tanks.
