I am so fed up with "scratch-free" acrylic cleaning pads that scratch the ever-loving *$^*&@#!* out of my tank. What do you use? (And don't say a Mag-Float, I won't use them. My husband thinks they're shiny toys and he's ruined two aquariums already.)

soft bristled scrub brush would probably work

There are a number of aquarium cleaners such as 'Mag Float' that do not scratch acrylic...

The trick is sand and many other things do scratch acrylic. So if you get a sand particle in the cleaner... the particle will scratch your acrylic aquarium...

try a large brush for cleaning moter home and travel trailers very soft bristles you coulld even get an adjustable pole to screw on to it that way your hands dont even have to get wet.but i have never owned an acrylic tank tank so i dont know if it would be abrasive enough?

Thats the thing, I need it to be abrasive enough to get all the gunk off, but obviously not to hard to scratch. Hell even getting water stains off the front takes a while since I just wipe with a clean dry rag till the whole surface is water stain and fingerprint free.

Yes, and it's a catch-22 because once you scratch it, the algae gets into the grooves and you have to scrub even harder to get it out.

There's a lot of acrylic users in here, someone must have a magic product.
