Living out of trash cans..advise?

The peg idea seems like a good one. Get some acrylic pegs and it seems like it would all be bonded very well.
As for drilling the hole goes. How big of a hole would you drill. Remeber the crack is nearly all the way to the seem, only about 1/4" to spare before the seem starts.

Oh yea, forgot to mention the tank I looked at last night. What a D**chebag. This guy has a "180 tank for sale, 6x2x2. As soon as I walked up it was obvious it was a 150. And then he tried to lie, after I told him I owned a real 180. Not to mention I asked him to fill it up before I got there and the floor is all wet around it, so you can't even tell if it was leaking. And the top band was broken. All in all a total waste, and on top of that I had to drive 45 min. each way to look at it. Just a beware to everyone, I guess that is what you get when you look to craigslist.

Disclaimer: I am not an expert.

Would it work to clamp it GENTLY with a pipe clamp from corner to corner like this |/|, put the cement inside the crack, and gently bring the edges together with the clamp? After it dries maybe you could put a big square or rectangular patch flat on top of the repair as reinforcement?

Drilling to stop the crack from spreading is probably a good idea, but I don't know about drilling for pegs as reinforcement. The cement literally melts the two pieces together, like welding. Gluing the crack together and putting a big patch on top should be stronger than the original.

The delvie's site has a manufacturer's data sheet on how to use the weldon, and there are some forum posts here on how to use it too.

1/8" is fine for the hole. but you have to drill it right at the end, so a bit bigger is a bit easier. you need to include the crack and not cracked material in the hole.

This is what I thought initially. My only concern for that is, once you start putting pressure on the tank to come together like that. How do you not put major stress on the other corner you are pulling in, and on the other two being pushed out? Seems like its going to happen. I was thinking possibly trying to apply light pressure front to back in that area. Or pull from the back about 12" from the side, pulling to the corner somehow. Might have to make a jig for that one.

Rambling on.....

Stop drill it as mentioned above. Cement new material aover cracked and non cracked material and secure with C clamps. Your done after mfgr suggested cure time on the adhesive.

It seems like it would be best to drill the hole through the end of the crack and then cement a piece of acrylic on the top and bottom of the crack.
