i catch them all the tim ehere in cali....there comming into season about now, so the beaches should be covered with them

search google with these scientific names....

Synodontidae-

Synodus dermatogenys- Clearfin Lizardfish
Synodus jaculum- Javelinfish
Synodus variegatus- Variegated Lizardfish
Trachinocephalus myops- Painted Lizardfish
 
heres the florida version this one is in one of my 180 g salt setup (was dirty this day buit cleans up nice) its name commonly here is "inshore lizardfish"

btw just got back from fishing and since snook isnt in season its catch and release we caught a 3 foot long 30 pounder it was awesome just wanted to tadd that lol
 
Nice lizardfish, looks alot like the one I caught. Where did you get yours? Congrats on the snook, from what Ive seen thats a pretty big one!
 
the lizardfish was caught about 100 feet from where we caught the snook (yes it was huge iev personally never caught one but he looked like he gave a helluva fight, 80lb test 125 lb leader 7 ot hook) pier 60 in clearwater at clearwater beach florida
 
baby hardhead cats adn it loks like greenbacks they were put in for food for teh ote fish im pretty sure they were greenbacks (easily caught in cast nets, i use a 12 foot 24' radius 3/8 mesh cast net it retty much will bring up everyhting of any size that gets in it i love it but is an expensive waste if u dont watch for rocks lol
