I believe those are tiny foods for newly hatched and small fish. As a temporary thing, shrimp from the deli will work. Not long-term, though, as it has thiaminase which breaks down essential nutrients, primarily thiamine, and causes systemic deficiencies over time. It's fine for the weaning process, though, just keep it rolling and switch from shrimp to other foods ASAP.

Thanks for the fast reply, my wife is ordering a few things for me off that site now....I'll forget about those shrimps then. My wife told me there are some fishing stores in town that sell frozen freshwater shrimps for the carp fishermen. I'll check those out tomorrow.

There are some frozen shrimps in a Korean internet store. One is "brine shrimps" and one is "mysis shrimps". Any idea which one is OK to use??
brine shrimp are good at the baby stage for nutrition, when they are adults they have very little nutrition. there like 90 percent water.

mysis shrimp have omega 3 fatty acids i know

wow, i would think the bigger thiaminase worry would be the gold fish this thing has been eating for 2 years, i didnt think shrimp contained it at all:confused:

try getting some goldfish, freezeing them, and offering them dead in that manner. all frozen food should be thoroughly defrosted though before feeding. so he can acclimate to dead food, then working in freezedried, pellets, ect. I've had great success raising LM bass on cichlid pellets and earthworms in the past. but they can be tought to get onto dead/prepared diets. You can also try fish fillet chunks and other similar fair. freeze dried krill are also very readinly accepted by most predetory fish fw/sw in my experaince. keep trying and GL.
