Has any one had trouble with getting new fish to eat? I have 3 LM Bass and have given them the option of frozen blood worms, cichlid pellets, and freeze dried blood worms but have had no luck.

These bass are about 3" and I just got them 2 days ago but they havent eaten yet

Any ideas?

LMB can be picky. You have to put some effort into pellet training them. I had some that would only eat live and had to wean them onto frozen krill which they loved, then eventually pellets

I would go with rosey reds.

I don't think so...just QT the rosey's and feed them one by one to prevent over feeding.

depends on the bass's size, and I use guppies because I find they are less likely to have disease. Most of the rosies from the pet shops around me are prone to ick and parasites which I dont want in my tank. But if you quarantine correctly you shouldnt have a problem

Last time I had my fish refuse to eat. I left it 3 days without food. After the 3rd day, they will pretty much eat anything you throw at them.

I am not trying to mean here. Just that they do not tend to eat when they first get into the tank and need time to adjust. So why waste the food and clog up the water.

Give them time to adjust and they will eat when they are ready.

Bass = eating machine.

Oh.. If you have the water too cold, they will not eat as much also. I had mine at 78 degrees. That will usually give them the sense it's summer time and summer is a time where they tend to eat a lot.
