lmb and peacocks?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
LMB can live in 80-85 no problem. Anything over 85 and the bass will start getting a little less active, but it really depends on the conditioning of the fry. At higher temps the LMB will be more active and hungry. LMB won't spawn until the waters cool down, but you really don't want spawning LMBs with your PBass.

I haven't kept PBass yet, but I have had LMB in aquariums, off-and-on, for the last 10 years. I have raised them in tropical temps for the first three years of their lives, and have gotten really good growth rates since they don't have to slow down for the cooler seasons. Once they go out in my pond they pick up the seasonal changes without any problems.

I have a LMB and 12 cichla together in a 1100 gallon pond in the basement. The LMB is bigger than them and is about 18 inches now (was 8 when I got him). Largest cichla is 15 inches. Water temperature goes as low as 75 (in the winter) and as high as 84 (in the summer). LMB doesnt act any different at 75 than he does 84. He will attack anything that hits the water at any temp..

Since you asked for pics here is a pic in the pond. Largemouth is in the far back. There is a few monos and a couple tems in the pic as well. This pic is from back in the beginning of summer, havent taken any pics in several months..

yea i agree that they can go together because bass in most states are in real warm water over the summer, but for good conditions at least for bass in new england is like 70 to 75,
cool set up wj
wish i could have a pool in the basement................
