Today as I was catching mosquito fish in my neighborhood pond, I saw a large fish swimming in about 2 feet of water 10 feet out. I realized it was an LMB, so I got my trusty pole and began to attempt to catch it, I hooked it 3 times, 2 in the mouth and once in the upper back..(don't ask me how!):screwy: In the back, I played it to the shore but right as it was in the shallow water, it surged and broke my line. I also saw 4 other bass in shallow water, any ideas on how to catch them??

net......

lol, it depends on how big the LMB is. i caught a LMB about 8'' with a fake lizard that was about 6'', so what you can use is a fake perch that is about 4'' or go top water. for top water i suggest a fake mouse or a buzz bait.

seine net or cast net

I highly doubt that it's legal to catch bass with any kind of net. Usually the only "game fish" that can be netted legally are smaller species of the sunfish family (lmb are in the sunfish family, but are a large species.)

What is the temperature of the water where you were fishing? That will help us give you more fishing techniques.

He's in FL, so probably pretty warm.
You can try rubber worms, if you know how to fish them. In shallow water, I like to rig them Wacky, with the hook through the middle, and twitch them. You could also try poppers, shallow running crankbaits, stick baits, and tube jigs.
