:nilly: It healed!!!

It's rid of those pesky parasites.

Now, I am wondering is these chemcials used for the bass any good for it? Is it like mercury where it stays in its system. I don't want to find out that I am poisioning it.

The box does says "for aquarim fish that are not to be food consumption for humans". So is that a hint that it in the fish system for good? I am not going to eat the bass but just wondering how toxic these things are.

Oh.. I just use one dose and it did the trick.

Mr Bass is doing great and having a huge appetite, but it's not as crazy for it's food like other bass on these forums. I did trained it to ask for food when it see me. But then again, i think that is easy if you feed it often enough.

One other thing, how long before should I consider introducing it a mate so it can make more basses. :D

The fish should be fine, they include those warnings mostly for legal implications and their effect was probably never tested on humans. I know with livestock you aren't supposed to butcher an animal for at least 30 days after its been medicated.
Unless you have a really large setup or pond I wouldn't attempt breeding the bass.

Congrats on getting it all cured :headbang2
As for introducing another bass, I would make sure the new one is very similar in size. Even then the first one might become too aggressive as that is "his" turf. Bass can and will kill for territory.

Also for future reference. You can remove Anchorworms manually using some tweezers. This is actually the preffered method. Even when you treat the parasite with medication it will fall off,but a portion of it usually stays embedded in the fish.It is quite rare for a LM Bass to get anchorworm due to their scale structure but when they do its usually on their fins or corners of their eye which can lead to serious implications. Glad you got it cured though!

Yup.. it was on it's fins. I guess there are not scales there. :grinno: But anyhoo, I tried the tweezers, but it tends to end up breaking in half. So I thought I need a better solution where it kills the whole thing. Yea it did fell off, but I also need to control what's already spread in the water. So a medicated treat should take care of both cases.

And good thing it works. The fin healed pretty good, at first there was a bump that is left behind, but soon that had fade away and now it looks like normal.
