Im doing the mix right now...love it but man my lmb rules the tank keeps my mono which is 1.5" larger and tems that are 1" bigger then the lmb...at one point the got so aggressive and keep all the other fish in the corner the tank, so i pulled him out and was about to give him away unitl i read the "dithers" thread...now i have 3 silver dollars and add the lmb back in the tank they are doing fine, you can tell he still tries to punk but its been minimal...so my advise is togethe one alot smaller, lmbs grow faster than tems...

Nice Largemouth bro! :D I was thinking of getting one before like catching some fingerlings at a nearby lake but never had the chance to go get some :nilly:

Yeah I can usually seign a few up but its late in the season, even if I were lucky enough to get one, it would likely be too big to go in with the Orinos. This hatchery has the perfect size im looking for. They actually have 3 strains of them. Florida F1 which can get gigantic, Northerns which tend to stay alot smaller, and a new cross bred strain they call Tiger and/or Gorilla Largemouth. Supposed to be highly aggressive even into maturity, 14lbs+. Dont think I want to get a Tiger. These guys also breed Black Crappie, native catfish, and all kinds of other natives. I might make a trip down there just to check out their facility, got me day dreaming of a 300g native tank now lol.

One of my Orinos has def established himself as big man on campus allready. Ive got 2 similar sized Firemouth cichlids in with them, and he keeps everybody in check. Like you said, he sometimes bullies everyone else so much that they just hang up in the top corner hoping he wont see them. Even my other Orino which is really mild mannered gets bullied some. Most of the time it just ignores his picking, but sometimes it runs and that just pisses him off more lol. If they stand their ground he loses interest pretty quick but if they run, hes hot on their ass till they stop and face him. Then he just flares his gills out and postures and curls his tail at them lol. Hes a brute!
