Hey guys, lets see those pictures of your large mouth bass.

Here's mine, caught right off the dock, someone thought it would be nice to make the lake their personal pond :irked: so the bass and mostly sunfish completely out competed the trout :( Anyway the lake is being poisoned this spring so I thought I'd "save" one of the LMB it would be too bad for the fish to be punished for the actions of one person. He seems to be enjoying the 40b growout, he'll be going into a larger 200g in the next week or so, just got done moving so the plans got set back a bit, but yeah I'm interested in seeing what you guys have.

BTW, his name is Bass, as in low frequency sound (as in the counterpart to treble).

REAL NICE! love the yellow on it! What subspecies is it?

Is the lake being poisoned to restart the stocking?

Yep, it'll be stocked with cut throat, and rainbow. My uncle was considering dumping a pike in there for the winter but I urged him to just let the lake be. Not sure what subspecies it is, I've been looking around but haven't found much yet, hoping someone here can help out. When I caught him he was just a little fingerling.

Thanks for the comments, I was leaning towards northern as well, primarily due to location, lol his coloration is great, and he eats like a pig, he'll pretty much eat whatever I feed him, his current diet is tilapia and NLS 3mm pellets.

What kind of lighting do you have? I have been raising LMB for three years and have never had one that colorful.

2 zoo med flora sun T5s (22"). When I took the pics my window shades were also open and the room's light was on as well. But he's just as colorful under just the aquarium lamps, the camera needed some better lighting though.

A very small lake called Bootjack, it's on hwy 2 about ~25 miles east of Libby. I haven't spoken to fish and wildlife to confirm the rumors, but I live right near it (or did just before I moved south to Bozeman) and that's what everyone's been saying. To be honest I doubt anyone aside from locals would even know of the lake.

edit: if you're interested in learning more about it, Bootjack is a part of the Thompson chain of lakes, it's located in the Cabinets, a chain of mountains grouped together with the Rockies. It's a gorgeous area with some great camping areas.
