Can I ask what size tank you've got them in? Most the Loach people get bent out of shape if they're in smaller than a 125 gal tank (for only 6!) because they keep saying they "get 18" long". But it takes them 20 or 30 *yrs to get that big.
It looks like Hurricane Loach in your pictures.
They get to about 12", and they take a long time to get there. I have 40 fish in a 75 gallon, and more in training. All of them in the 75 are 3-9". The filtration is 1700 gph, and they are growing nicely. I have a 125 for them and just ordered the stand. The key is to keep that water clean and feed them a variety of foods. You can read about my addiction on my blog, click on my profile. I do 75% water changes weekly. This stocking level is very unconventional, and unless you are willing to put in a lot of work I don't advise it. I'll post pics when I make the move. It's amazing to see that many loaches shoaling together. I like to drop in some mussels, and watch the feeding frenzy. JD_MAN has a 265 with a ton of loaches, he is my loach keeping idol. You can find his collection on the forum as well.
