LOAD WARNING: Tanks in the wall

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
very impressive....

Thanks miguel..neo..everyone. :D

Yeah..it was a prelude to me doing a bigger wall....

If you look at the left side..there is a spacer about 6" from the slat door. This was for me use as a guide to build out a new wall on the leftside. I plan to have a space of 30" from the "real" wall including the 6" spacer to put in a 210g tank..72x24x29 or possibly a 96x30x24 along with my 125g presently.

This test wall I made wasn't too bad to do at all. Used 2"x3" studs doubled up, skinned with 3/4" birchwood. It was easy because all I needed was 1 sheet of 4'x8' birch. :naughty:

The cut out for the tanks was large enough to put in from the front and I used spare 3/4" birch and made a frame to cover the tank. I made it fit snug so all I had to do was use a lil pressure and press it in place without it falling out or shifting.

Only thing that is holding me up is whether to get another AGA tank with the built in megaflow system like the 125g I have or get a Tenecor acrylic show tank w/pre-filter.

Considering the costs of both...AGA 210G $600 in change or Tenecor 300G $2500 or so w/shipping. :irked: Also a big factor is the ease of getting it into my basement without having to remove my door. Presently its 30" wide so if I remove the frame I will have about 3" or so of play for the Tenecor.

Decisions..decisions...:naughty:

wish i could just decide to tear my basement and put in more tanks lol

wow for one weekend that looks realllll good............

Thanks man..actually 2 weekends. Ripping a wall/closet down is the easiet thing to do. Just let the sledgehammer do the talking.

Only thing held me up was waiting for a 40g breeder tank to be in stock..took a week..so wasn't too bad. :D
