I am angry with a local fish club Circle City Aquarium Club. I have never talked to these guys and have never been to one of their meetings. But, thought I would post on the forum to see if they work locally at all with any pet stores to stop these type of things, dying, etc.. They replied back saying that they don't worry about things like that because some of the lfs are their sponsors.

They have since edited or deleted all of my posts regarding this and any responses that I got. There were some guys who did reply, saying that this should be brought up during there next meeting.

Apparently they are the Terrell Owens of fish clubs, doing it all for the money and not worrying about what goes on with the fish.

Is there anything that I can do about this?

All of the scales are scraped off of the fish and then they are dipped into dye. Most fish die during this process. A similar method is used for tattooing fish but I'm not exactly sure how that is done. It's a lot more stress than a fish should be put through. Completely unecessary.

It's more advanced now, they don't scrape them, they simply put them in a contolled acid bath to burn off the slime coat and expose the scales/skin, then dye them in a vat, then allow them to heal and a LOT of fish are lost this way. Plus, all that fun acid causes long term damage to gills, eyes, nervous systems, etc. Really nice for that pretty little fish. Anyone knowingly purchasing a fish like that is an ass.

:iagree: anyone who does not agree with this method should post on the CCAC forum mentioned in the first post. Let them know they are being cruel. They obviously dont seem to care. Dicks.
