thanks for the non-answer :)

still waiting for oddball or someone else who's smart to chime in (uh, no offense to you other guys lol)

Thought oddball already told ya... :raspberry lol

never found any of my fish that died with their mouth open... wow good question ..i still have to think that it was gasping for air in their last breathe..

I think when a fish dies with its mouth open it is because of lack of oxygen. When I go fishing and put my catch in a 5 gallon bucket with no aeration, the fish end up dying with their mouths open. The Doctor.

u let your fish die from suffocation in buckets?

I still don't think lack of oxygen is the answer.

I don't know if you've ever been fishing. When you fish in saltwater, bait such as anchovies, shiner perch and bullheads etc... are caught to use as bait. When you catch a lot of bait, how would you keep them to be able to use them in the future. I mean do you have a LARGE saltwater tank that you take to the pier to hold 50 plus baitfish for your next fishing trip?:screwy: What would you do to be able to use them a week or two later? Most fishing from the pier is with DEAD baitfish. Let me know what you do and maybe I can learn something:confused:. The Doctor.

Anyways, I've noticed that dead fish stiffens up due to rigor mortis. Maybe with the stiffening of the body, the mouth gets pulled open. Just a thought.

Sorry about that. Just having a bad day. Found a stray golden retreiver today and took him home. Called animal control and they said it would take 2 hours to come pick him up. Heard a loud noise in my garage and went to check. The golden retriever had jumped and grabbed a roop that was attached to the ceiling of my garage however it was also on top of my garage door opener. The loud noise was the garage door track and machine crashing to the floor.

I was also able to erase my stupid post. Once again, I'm truly sorry for acting like a jerk:). The Doctor
