Logic puzzle - Chinese Algae Eaters must move, but...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah, I gotta say that either a divider or another tank are looking like your only options at the moment. A temporary tank like the stock tank suggested above would work as well, but somehow I seriously doubt it would be very temporary given the particular fish you have.

Look at it this way: it's always fun setting up a new tank! --- Man, I wish I could get my wife to buy this line...

The only other thing I can think of is to move the oscar back into the 75, move everything that he'd eat out either into the 125 or the 55, then put the CAEs into the 125. That'll depend on how big the oscar is of course, and how many others he can get along with, otherwise you'll be stuffing too much into the 55 again.

CAEs can be the most aggressive fish you'll ever come across. Seriously.
That's why I love them so much. If you look closely, they are always mumbling swear words as they twitch angrily along their merry way. It's like having George Carlin in a box.

Many good suggestions here. I might just divide the 75g as suggested. Any last ideas besides a new tank? (I have an empty 44g tall so I could do it, but really already have enough going on as it is.)

If all the tanks will suffer slightly by the addition of a new one, I would advise against it...you don't want to do that. Of course that's your decision...personally I can't have empty tanks at my house, I fill them quickly hehe.

I've heard of using plastic eggcrate cut to size as a divider if you are looking.

+1 on the divider.

Are they big enough to fit through lighting eggcrate? That would have been my only misgivings to dividers is filtration through them.

*luckilly* the CAE that I've ever owned died before getting too big...I think my Bichir ate them (x2). ;)

My bichirs are too small to eat the CAE yet.

I'd probably make a divider out of the plastic sheets with square holes from Michael's craft store for the divider route.

Going to give it another day or two and see what I really want where. They big raphaels are getting cranky in the 125g so i might move a couple out of there.
