I am currently setting up a 185 gallon tank. I have a single pirahna (Harry), who is getting HUGE! He is about 8'' in length. Once I have acclimated him to the new tank, would it be feasible to integrate 2 more rbp's into the new enviroment? Any advice would be very helpful...

put them all together with a transparent separater for knows the behaviour of the solitary pygo, if you see attacks trough the separater, better get another tank for the other two pygos, i got the same problem, i have 2 pygos 3" each and one 8"long, the longer pygo has lived for 3 years alone, i wait to grow the small ones and the moment to put them all together.

Sounds like the best idea

Thank you! He was purchased with a mate, but after 6 months he ate the other:( even though I was feeding them regularly.

with just two rbps chances are very likely the more dominate one will kill the other one. how long has it been kept solo?
how big are the other rbps you plan on puchasing? with 185 gallon tank you can add a lot more than just two more rbps as tank mates. the aggression will be spread out to multiple fish and chance of cohabing all of them will be much higher.
you can add 8-12 more to the new tank.
with there will be an significant size difference then you need to grow the smaller ones out first.
puting 8" rbp together with 3" is asking for trouble

He has been kept solo for about 9 months. I was trying to find some similar to him in size...but wont the new group try to dominate the loner if they are in the new tank first? He is just growing so rapidly I wanted to have him in the 185gallon by the end of June because right now he is in a 40 gallon and he can hardly move around, I feel like I am doing him a diservice etc...and I have become quite attached, I don't want anything to happen to him. He has become a snob, he will only eat frozen shrimp, he spits out the bloodworm cubes.

40 gallon doesn't have a good footprint for 8" rbp, unless you have a 40 gallon breeder tank which is 18" wide.
he has way passed the bloodworm cubes stage those are for baby fish around 1"-2", try to feed it some fish fillet, silverside, smelts.
the new group won't gang up on a new fish if you introduce them properly, in your case you can introduce them all together in the 185 gallon tank.
the problem is finding some with similar size (with just 2-3" difference at the most, IMO)

He was 2'' when I got him...thus the 185 gal set up. He is doing well...I had a scare 3 months ago, he got really lethargic, I didn't have enough airation. It is way overdue for him to have a bigger residence. I will try the fish fillets. I didn't know they were for just the babies. Yeah the 6'' are pretty pricey! I just don't want my rb to suffer because of my novice standing.

Check all resources in your area (craigslist, on-line forums, pet stores).....seems people are always trying to get rid of red bellies around 6 inches or so for cheap if not free.

People tend to overbuy expecting to lose some along the way and end up with too many.
