Why do you guys thing they arent more widely studied?
Money. I actually debated going into some sort of ichtology, but the pay isn't something I think would help me start a life. It's something I might try and do on the side though. I feel like the best place to start is DNA tests and just starting off by seeing how similar they actually are, then going from there.

I think it's 75% endli 25% lap. It's a little bit elongated and there something else that reminds me of lap, but I can't quite nail it down yet

The eyes to me and the head is kind of blocky imo,
 
If this fish were to be listed in a premium Japanese Web site for polya. They'll more than likely be labeled a natural 'wild cross' in the endli category, and charge an arm and a leg for it.
