21 months :screwy:? Thats nothing...

So full grown, how big is full grown? And how long is a long time? Thats the problem with those statements, they are not factual and usually bs. Just like everyone says my Oscar lived a good life, 8 years!.... please it died like half its life span early....

None of you can really say anything.... As none of you have an arowana over 24".... If you do, then you have a tank larger than a 240g... simple as that. Justification, its what society is now a days. My friends arowana is 21 years old, and theres a reason he is that old. I'd be surprised if one of you guys had an arowana for 5 years. A fish that gets easily 3ft in an 18" wide tank!? Once again, MFK is going down the hole because of people who can't give animals what they need.

No you don't need to be an expert on fish to keep them. You just need common sense and comprehension, the experts did the hard work for you. They posted a recommend tank size and still people are to stupid to figure it out...

?

On the end note, jars are different than silvers.. along with tank sizes

Ignorance is pathetic, done...

nah man..

monsterfishkeepers is now, an internationally reconized fish keeping website.
get over it. MFK does not belong to the states, MFK thrives in all who shares the very fact that...this addiction is more than one country, alone.

anyways, fishes are not animals.

Where did I say any nation, or nationality rises above with MFK? You should unplug your keyboard.

i don't have proof of what i was stating about what i saw during my youth in asia. so i let you call it a bs or whatever you feel like. but about my jar, did i say it reaches its "full grown"? and did i say i recommended that size of tank for silvers?

do you have pics of this 21 years old aro that your friend has to back up your saying before i call it a BS too?

just better watch your language before calling others stupid, as i for one can get offensive if my intelligence is being measured by people like you.

I actually have videos... and I can post them tonight if you'd like. There is also a 15 year old gg thats bigger than most have you have probably seen.

BTW, I am not the one that can't comprehend why a fish being longer than the tank is wide would not have positive effects on its life.... Especially when the fish is a constant swimmer...

Here is the video... For size reference that Oscar is 14in... The tank is 30 or 36in wide, and i still don't think its enough. This arowana would take your hand off, and dwarfs the full grown Oscar and full grown Jaguar.

The tank is a 400-450 or so. So to the comments of 125's and 180's, even 240's you need to do some reading.. This is a 36" beast and deserves its room and dedication. Not a rainy day fish keeper

It would behoove us to take a good look at the Japanese way of fishkeeping who for hundreds of years have taken the art of koi keeping to almost a religion when we in the America's haven't been doing it for very long and bashing others for their opinions or an entire nation for that matter is pretty senseless and immature. I see no Aros in your gallery Canuck but i'm not calling you a liar for your opinions. I for one looked at hundreds of Aro setups when i was deciding on my stock and build and very few with the exception of public aquariums were in these massive tanks. There seem to be many elitist opinions on this website which is unfortuneate that those few seemed drtermined to batter their ideas down the rest of our throats. Unfortuneately when you look at these so called "professionals" most are not. They are not carpenters, plumbers, engineers. Certainly not marine bioligists. With that in mind take their advice with a large grain of salt.

going off topic, sorry.
that 400 or so tank is not even close to be that high of a gallonage tank.

LIES.
tell your FRIEND to input some sort of information on that tank, for instance; to even pass for a 150G tank: thus fooling suckers.

Would you like pictures of the tank with a tape measure?

You probably also wouldn't believe he has 97 fish tanks would you? Do you need pictures for that as well? His tanks dwarf mine...

Anyone can tell that arowana is huge based on the size comparison of that full grown oscar and jag... the jack dempsy is 6-8 inches.... You can call bs but you just show how nieve your fish keeping skills are, and only another reason you shouldn't give your input on a thread like this..
