He rescued it within its first year of life. I don't know what the condition was. What happens to people as they get older? They begin to slouch, well basically deteriorate correct? I am sure this fish was an amazing creature and show fish for quite some time. He is almost at the end of the road and will only look worse. That's life. I think his other arowanas are 24" and 2 years old, although I am not sure. I have a video of those as well. He has over 7,000 gallons of tanks at his house, and its quite impressive. He is 76 years old now, and still kickin around getting me whole sale prices on all my fish ;)

I don't know what more you want, if there is anything to do to convince you let me know. If your not going to believe me either way, stop trolling.

flamenco-t - Funny thing, all three of your African arowanas died, you lost 2 silvers, and a black just the other day at a young length of 24". I don't think you need to point out the obvious.

Your kill count speaks for itself.
If he rescued the arowana in its first year of life, then there's no way you know about it, because you weren't born! That fish doesn't even look seven years old, and already badly stunt. His head was not proportional with his skinny body. The Oscar is in horrible shape... Was it rescued as well?
I've read the thread in the link you posted several time, and can't find where Stan said he lost 3 African arowanas. You really need to focus on your school, son! Or at least, learn about arowana. His kill count only means that he has a lot of fish....
Don't call people trolling when you lost words...

No most people don't have huge tanks, then again most people responding in this thread dont have huge arowana either.

How about you, what is your opinion. I know you got a black aro a couple years back around the same time I did. Do you still have it? If so what size tank do you keep it in?

No i do not still have it, i lived in Japan when i got it and when i moved back to the USA i gave all my fish back to the store i bought them at. I am not sure what my opinon is really that was the purpose of the thread. I have seen them healthy in anything from about 75 gallons (in Japan) to maybe 600 in a differnt store....

Fishlore.com still holds true to tank sizes and is really good on arowana info. Go on that site and see the answers you get.
I have. The members will tell you a 125. Not sure what their fish profiles will say. That site is full of people who keep Betta. When I tried to tell them a 125 is not suitable for a Aro,I got banned

To the OP. You need a 8' x 36" minimum,IMO, to keep a silver for life. To have a tank that is 30" tall would help. So what does that give you? 450 gallons.

So I guess someone said you could keep a 3 foot aro in a 16g BioOrb and you took that advice:ROFL:

As I've told you before :duh: Just cause you see it on the Internet or TV, doesn't mean it's real :nilly:children:screwy:

Just note to self that you've seen "the world" of fish keeping in real life with your own eye, not some mythical! Also note to self that if it can be done by others, then you can do it! :headbang2 I'm looking for that opportunity you had, to view fish keeping in the real world! Just click on the "!" on the bottom left corner, and ask a Mod to close the thread, if you feel you already get your answer ;)

Yeah, I've seen healthy 12-14" oscar s in 20g and 30g hex tanks. I would imagine those aro looked similar, pathetic:(

I keep reading your posts and wanting to reply to them, but then I look down and read "you cannot polish a turd" and get distracted. :grinno:
