and the tank they came out of

So I answered an add looking for a rehome on 2 large columbian sharks. My thinking is since I have 3 of them already in my 180g sw adding 2 more full grown adults will make for a nice mini shark school effect.

Gave my wife the address and asked her if she could pick them up on her errands tonight. My daughter Josepha went with her. Since they were gonna be gone for a couple of hours i decided I would battle the couch monster except it won and imobilized me.

My daughter walked in the door and says to me "Dad these are way bigger than the one's at the restaurant". Then my wife comes in and I ask her what size tank they came out of. By this time in our fish journey my wife has gotten pretty good at nailing tank sizes down from a quick glance at a tank. If what she says is correct these came out of 40g tanks, each living in their own tank.

So much for taking the time to climatize them. This is what I see when I opened up the container at the restaurant

my shoe is a size 13 triple wide for size reference.

I figured they had been in transport for a good 45 minutes and would wait till this week to get them ready to go in the sw.

I must say I am truly impressed at some of the fish that come to me from some of the peoples really small tanks when the size of the fish is considered. A 13-15 inch fish very healthy looking very thick in the head and body coming out of a tank that is 12 inch wide and 36 inch long.

So I went last night to pick up the rest of the fish from my friend and we topped off the fish sale with a very nice tidy little deal.

I traded him a set of ornamental swords for this

The fish were in a 180 and upon closer inspection will not make much of an over population impact in my tanks. Also the fall fish auction is coming oct 18 so I will be able to thin down my stocking.

Here are pics of the fish, was bored so I decided to take a few pics.

not really a fan of common plecs as they produce lots of waste, but, thought the second one had a nice coloration and pattern

I was just going to put these guys in the tanks here but knew for sure that they would become feeders so I put them in my 65g and the color offset from the lelupi actually came off nice.

Some of these guys are actually returning home, whereas most of the others are coming to a new home. The one I love the best is the purple ob. I have for some time wanted to get one with this coloration. Hopefully I can see some fry come from this one and a female peacock in the tank. I put them in a 140g with some of my catfish.

Very nice indeed
