I wanted to know what was the longest time someone has successfully kept a northern pike. What were your conditions you set for it? Diet? Temp? aclimation? Water changing and filtration.... or tankmates!

I have a stream behind my house where you can literally go in the mornings and catch Northerns that are between the lengths of 2 inches to 8 inches at will.

I have tried to keep 2 unsuccesfully.

what are you housing them in? they get to be of pretty good size, so for long term, you need a huge setup. btw, shout out for N. attleboro!

I have been keeping them in my 15 gal feeder tank... one didn't eat. The other hit his head on the top had a seizure and died. But I have a 180 for them when/if they get bigger... Are you from NA?

I've kept one from 5" to 15"

Started by feeding him live.....by 8" he started eating chop'd up smelt, and shrimp.....

Very friendly, and would be the first fish to greet you when time to feed.....

He grew very fast....had him only few months......

I fed him daily and he was doing great.......one day he didn't come up to greet me at feeding time...just sat on bottom....I found that strange! Next day I found him doing barrel rolls and died shortly after!

Hmm you ever figure out the cause of death? What size tank/temp/tankmates??
