I have a longnose gar that is about 6" inches in length and he is in a 75 gallon tank with a channel catfish and I was wondering what to feed the gar because the catfish likes blood worms and anything that sinks and i was trying to get my gar off live food SO PLEASE HELP!!!

good luck bro. i know how you feel...i have a 6" long nose and have the same problem. he won't take anything that floats or sinks. he'll starve himself till some feeders hit the water then he'll eat. haven't tried silversides yet, but i will this afternoon. let me know if you find something that works...best of luck to you
My rtc is totly the same only meat or feeders next week im getting a tsn hope fully it wont be the same.Back to question try shrimp.
if u have lots of competition in the tank there shouldnt be a problem feeding your LNG floating pellets. Mine was pellet train and he could catch 3-4 pellets in his beak at one time but he jump out of my tank one day when i forgotten to cover 
mine's has a bit of competiton at feeding time...a 10" florida gar, 6 dats, 3 aros, and 2 peabass...still no luck. he follows the silversides, but just watches them hit the tank floor then shows no interest. guess its feeders for now till he gets the hang of things...
i have been trying to get my 6" longnose on pellets but none of my gars will touch prepared food. so i quarentine feeder minnows. i feed the small ones to the juvi and the big ones to the 18" longnose and F/S.
