Yes, they were locally caught. These are two of the longnose gars that I got back in June when they were under 4".

I'm up for fishing for gars in the Spring. I'm not sure on all of the best locations in and around PA, but I know that Presque Isle Bay up at Lake Erie is supposed to have a bunch of longnose and spotted gars.
