He's a keeper, i have the same kind, although unsure if he is a spotted or florida, the store that sold him to me had it labeled as a crocodile gar, 
, mine started on feeder guppies, rosy minnows , then small gold fish, but he always eats bloodworms, my next step is to get him off gold fish and onto shrimp that i will cut up

it's most likely a Florida gar...spotteds are quite rare in the hobby. good luck with your fish!--

*i do want to add that i have nothing against people who keep FL gars or are excited about getting a new gar...it's just that the threads should probably go into the right place AND there are a lot of the same type that they could be combined.

My thoughts exactly....
But then where posts belong and "clean up" seem to be pretty arbitrary and there is little consistency with policy as far as this goes.. Can not really expect much when those doing the "Modding" have little idea of what actual moderation of a forum is. Here a Mod seems to be a clean up artist and not really one to guide conversations. They have no F-ing clue what to keep what to move or what to do.... They do not even know the subject really.
But yet these are the sausages making decisions here and deleting or keeping posts and deciding how various things are framed. Really stupid but MFK and their leadership have the right to chose their path. I'm continually dismayed by it but what can one do?

I'm personally not sure why I bother with this site at all. Except it is like the girlfriend I really hope would change... It has potential but always wishes to deny it....It seems the obvious is always a step away but always ignored.
