The LFS actually has a Breeding pair of them there with a tank FULL of fry. The male is one mean bastard. He was beating his head on the glass and flipping out when I went up to the tank and then he would go and beat up the female and bite her. He was about 6 inches and she was like 3 maybe.

Actually they are both under the label Cryptoheros Nigrofasciatum is Convict, Cryptoheros Honduran Red Point sp. is HRP. Archocentrus and Chiclasoma are both out dated.
wow how many people have said they are a colour variant.....quite anoying they are not the same 1 is blue the other is black the have different body structures. also the name gives it any one is a Cichlasoma nigrofasciatum and the other is a cryptoheros sp honduran red point.so if he does breed them with a con and doesnt cull he would flood the market with crappy hybrids....why buy a breeding pair to seporate and breed with a con????!!!!!
