look how overstocked my tank is pic

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Some of the biggest fish might have already been in the tank and he could have put the others in there just for the photo op.

i saw this photo somewhere before on here too. might be in the "show your overstocked tanks....." thread. i swear it said they are all piled in the corner because the jardini top right was really mean and they were all scared of it.

Saw that (or something very much like it) years ago.. Not ps if its the same.. And there is worse tanks out there.. :/ on another note.. That crenicichla is of mythical size!

I remember a few years ago someone posted that photo and the similar discussion that ensued...Pacu Mom what names did Ted and Todd go by when they were actively posting?

Ted is in the Seattle area. He apparently had two MFK accounts: Anythingfish, and anythingfish.com. Here's an article he wrote about Todd's 2500 gallon build.

Here is his thread on constructing a monster aquarium.

I was mistaken about Todd. I don't know if he is a member of MFK. I was thinking about THE TRUST who is a friend of Teds who used to post a lot on MFK, but stopped posting threads for over four years. In recent years he only posts in the buy and sell section. In this thread on Ted's 8000 gallon tank near the end, they write that all the smaller fish less than 24" had to be removed from the tank because they were under attack from the bigger fish.

One time an idiot posted the pictures and claimed that was his tank. It was a quick way to get himself banned. These pictures do come up from time to time. The pictures are of such a nature, that once you see them, you cannot forget them.

Great to see Wednesday and pacumom put in a good word for Ted. I have a lot of respect for him.

Well said KNH, respect is an understatement for the man. Ted is my MFKin hero lol...it saddens me to know theres a whole generation who missed out on Teds work apparently even tho its in the articles section? I remember watching his 8k gallon being built when i was in MFK diapers. I was lucky enough to see some of his fish in person up at Big Rich's before they passed. Hands down the largest cats ive ever seen in person :) purely amazing and mind boggeling. Hybrid rtcxtsn 42" on the tape measure!!! 40-44" niger cats and rtc's actually over 40" not just b.s. claims of giant sizes like we see today.... Probably the biggest raised in captivity. Im just tryin to keep the dream alive of this place, its not what it used to be. Ive spent my entire fish career trying to fill Teds shoes so to speak. Its just not possible lol...he was waaay ahead of his time. Noone on here would even know how to or think to build a plywood tank if it wernt for him, he was by far one of the first. He never purchaced a fish, they were all rescues. He gave them extensive treatments like a vet would when they came in and gave them the best life possible. Id like to see someone even try to keep all those fish alive in a 180. Thats a feat of amazement in itself. That water is so pristene u guys thought it was photoshopped...lmao... we need a throwback section!!!!! MFK would not exist if it wernt for the originators like Ted (anythingfish), johnptc, nolapete, necrocanis, ariapimamag, pharoah, and of course our founder lei (neoprodidgy).... shame what the hobbys turning into around here... a bunch of tree hugging nancy boys with a hard-on for p.e.t.a who need a (expointed...deleted) good kicking :). No wonder y our forefathers are all gone or keep to themselves these days. Too many nay sayers and tire kickers round these parts instead of mfkers.... ill end my rant now as these newcomers just dont understand. I declare a section for us old guys to post in without being pestered...give me mfk 08 or earlier any day!!!!! Everything was sunshine and rainbows back then Lol... thanks for the backup Pacumom ur a trooper :)

I would love to see a throw back section just for old timers. I still browse MFK because of Ted and John and the others you mentioned. The atmosphere around here has definitely changed and IMO not for the better.

I'm not a fan of JDM tanks, but knowing that was not the final home for those fish, I find those pictures amazing and beautiful.

I'm not a fan of JDM tanks either, I don't give a flying F how clear the water appears. Those style of tanks remind of the fish crammed into aquariums in LFS in SE Asia. So I can certainly understand those that didn't know who owned that tank, or his personal history on MFK, and the fact that these fish were not going to be kept in that situation until they died from stress/disease etc, saying what they have in this thread. Maybe I need a good kick, too?

This wasn't a personal attack on Ted, Todd, or anyone else. The people commenting clearly have no idea who those people even are. So what? That somehow makes them ....... a bunch of tree hugging nancy boys with a hard-on for p.e.t.a who need a (expointed...deleted) good kicking. How special of you, and a good move in further alienating newer members to MFK from those who did help build this site. Maybe just getting a wee bit defensive about your personal hero, wednesday?

This site has moved in the direction that it has due to Li (Neoprodigy), and it should come as no real surprise that certain members of todays MFK would be shocked by the sight of a JDM style set up. Todays MFK where we have a section just for crayfish/shrimp/snails. You might as well get used to it, because this site isn't going in reverse, and things are never going to be like they were a decade ago.
