Um no actually you were closer.... Muhammad thinks he has Longnosed.....They are not... they are Shortnosed Lepisosteus platostomus... 180 cm would still be one fricking big Shorty though...

they are definitely not longnose gars, but nice looking gars nevertheless.

i was actually leaning more towards them being Florida gars given their pattern, but this could be a bit washed out by the flash pictures (thoughts richard?) just seem more like the typical Florida/spotteds in the hobby to me.

the gar in your profile photo (not avatar) is a longnose gar...i would know, because it was my fish. nice t-gar avatar as well...i was pretty familiar with that fish too ;)--

i agree with solomon.. they look like Florida Spotted gars..
 
I still think they are likely shortnosed...But then seeing as this has been without updates for an entire year except for some spam post saying "blah" who knows really.

These fish can sometimes be very tricky to ID at these sizes off pics alone. Personal examination is much more accurate in determining species, especially when it comes to this group of Lepisosteus which can look very similar and have just minor differences to them.
