nice pick up glad you got a healthy one this time around so you are not playen the 50/50 game. i believe she will darken up a bit but if she dosent i like that color better than the dark ones so either way you have a winner.

i love her color and thats why i got her, mainly...i had planned on waiting for a little bit but there she was...she was on some light sand and if she gets to dark i will get light sand in the tank to keep her light...also to possibly get my other 2 to get the same color, though i don't think they would get like her...

Beautiful! wish they were allowed in vegas!!!!

thanx...one of the up sides to living in mn...

one thing that i noticed on her is that her tail has spikes atleast 10 and my other retics don't...will the other 2 get them or could she really be something different...

I get the feeling that its a flower, due to the tail length and if you look closly you kind of see the patterns, but my gut says retic.

a few more pics i took without the flash...it is hard to see the spikes, but they are there...as she has more time in the tank she is getting yellower not darker as of yet though it may take more time...the last pic is the closest to the correct color tone that she has...the white specs are sand...

Hello,

because of the light "red/brown" colour I think she gonna be what we call here "Red Reticulata".
I think they are allso called Red Caqueta or so.

Alex has a point here, it could be but i dont think so!check out the underside of the rays disc,if it is patterned then its Caqueta or Red retic.Cant remember what sex you said it was,if its male it will have fully developed claspers even at this small size as it is a very small ray species.
Regular retics do have spikes as they grow though less prominent than other species,at a 12cm disc most appear completely smooth.
Have a look!

Very nice pick up buddy.

it is a female...it has a 5-6" disc and my 2 retics that i have at 5" discs, do not have spikes, just smooth tails then the stinger...this new ray has a single row of like 10 or more spikes...
