I had a student bring in an Elk in a jar two years ago (I teach 4th grade and science at a small K-8 school). They had shot the mother (legally during cow season) and decided to pickle the fetus in alcohol. It looked just about the same, minus the cookie decal. I have a couple bats in formaldehyde in my room, but they aren't nearly as impressive as a pickled deer fetus!

How in the world did ur pops get a fetus out a deer?

And oddities is a rad show, except the chubby goth girls kinda freak me out.....

The story goes that he got mom in the head with the mirror of the car. Just clipped her. I forget if he went back for her or took her with him, intending to eat her, and kept the fetus.

Must of been one HUGE jar!

Or a small Elk...

Here is present a student brought me - her family traps and I said I wanted a Bobcat skull for the classroom. For some reason I burst out laughing when she walked up to my desk and handed it to me in a ziplock bag. :nilly:

I cooked it in the pressure cooker for about an hour (outside, it stunk) and the meat fell right off. I've heard people say Bobcat is edible, but I sure wouldn't want to eat it.

It is a old (60+ years) Spectacled Caiman hide. Another gift from a student. I love weird stuff as well, I'll try to think of what else I have laying around.
