Nice fish, I love the male mota and the little grammodes. The red spangles on the grammodes look incredible in the second pic. Also, your RD from wallyworld looks like it might have a little flowerhorn in it (which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your opinion...)

I've grown out a lot of rd/midas that had a lot of speckles and spangles on them. They usually lose them as adults but I do agree with you, I can't trust anything coming from Walmart but I love this fish regardless. The color on my grammodes are great, I couldn't be happier with them.

ohh...nice. just curious where did you get you grammodes? local?

Cichlid world in Garden City about 2 months ago. As soon as I found out they had them I drove down and bought 5 lol. Kind of local but still a good hour drive.

Thank's Mo, I was looking through the threads on here and saw some of your labridens. I'm not sure if I wan't to keep this guy yet, Any suggestions on what I can keep him with? He's supposedly killed all of his brothers and sisters. I picked up the blue labridens from a local guy named Joe who has been in the hobby for 40 years. He is getting out of ca/sa's because of his 8.2 pH.

They'll do well with any similar sized cichlid. I had mine in a 300 with some Freddies. If you want a mate...contact Eddie Martin at Blue Grass Aquatics. He has Blue Labs for sale.

Best of luck with your pickups. I'd loose that GG before it got too big. I finally gave away the five that I had...and damn glad I did. LOL

Thanks a lot for the info so far. I saw Eddie just had a new batch of these posted on here lately. I just might have to get into these guys since I like herichthys but my water is too hard for most of them. Seems as if these guys do great in my water though.

No way am I getting rid of my giant gourami. I just saw 2 monsters this passed weekend and made me wish mine would grow faster lol.
