How do they look like carpintis? I was under the understanding carpintis had squiggly patterns along the head and face while the cyano was dotted, not squiggly. There are very noticeable differences between the two, and from what I have read/learned his is a classic texas. My carpintis escondido have extremely noticeable squiggly patterns on their faces/head even at 1.5" while the regular cyanos I just got done looking at, at the LFS, have a dotted face/head.

Call the sevs what you want...they are all the same fish. golds are usually female and the reds are usually male. Some just have more red than others. they all look great by the way!

Thanks a lot guys , the pictures i took of the severums dosent do justice, the fish has more red than it shows in the pictures ,by the way i got me another one today to have a couple , the cost of each was $17.44 dollars each and the texas were $2.80 .

By the way the texas are starting to show some patterns on the side and in the lower jaw.

i have a 210 galon ,see "MY Devil's Den (><) Warning Load " post

i asked the guy at the LFS and he told me that the severums and some Big GT's are from a distributor in the main land "US". Somewhere in florida

When i went to pick up the other severum i noticed the label "Red Dotted gold Severum"

and my intention with the texas is to try and mix them with some nice Midas i got from our lakes here and see what comes up

If you'll look at the pictures of the escondido(super green) you posted the other day and compare them to this, you'll see the differences I am talking about I think. The one in this thread is, to my knowledge and understanding, a classic texas.

I would post pics of mine if I could but my camera is very very bad quality. My escondido look like younger versions of yours. Nothing like his texas he has shown here. Escondido is just one of several carpintis right? Texas is cyoanoguttus(spelling) which is still different than carpintis and technically not the same, right?
