Just picked up this bad boy for free today. Drive about an hour round trip to get it, totally worth it.
It's a really nice 75 gallon and is in great shape.
Tomorrow I'm going to start working on taking my 55 out of its place and replacing it with this 75. And increasing the filtration a little of course.
I figure my two toadfish and porcupine puffer will appreciate the extra space.

Let me know what you think guys.

Also, if anyone knows a good place to get a tight lid online for this tank cheap, that's be great.
Nothing fancy, just something to prevent anyone from jumping.

Everyone is moved in!

There's only 3 fish in this tank, and one invertebrate.
A porcupine puffer (Tweety), an oyster toadfish (Leon), an orange toadfish (Tigre), and a horseshoe crab.
I definitely need some more fish in here

So guys... I really want to get a stingray... It's the #1 fish I want to own.
I have a 220 gallon tank that's freshwater, but freshwater stingrays are illegal here in Texas.
This 75 is the biggest saltwater tank I can get for a couple years. So I'm thinking about getting a California or a Cortez pup. Any input on that?

I definitely plan on waiting a couple months. But I mean would the size of my tank be the issue? I've seen tons of people keep them in smaller tanks when they're younger, which isn't something I'm really opposed to. I think keeping juvenile fish in smaller tanks is fine as long as they still have some space to grow, the tank is proportional to the size they would need as adults at the size they are now, and they have a larger home awaiting them when they get larger.
My big question is, how long would it take a small 3-4" pup to become about 7-8"? I'm assuming they're pretty slow growers, but I'm not entirely sure about that one.
