I'm pretty crafty with my hands and will build a stand and canopy for it in the next few weeks, I'm actually not gonna rush the setup this time:cry:. This will be my first well thought out tank. I have a 110 high thats not braced in the center either and I've had no problems with it. Check out how thick the glass is, no bow whatsoever.

I had a 125 (or 130, it was an odd height) with no center brace that split in the corner;) a couple bucks in brackets is really cheap insurance since the top is not one piece.

Since I'm gonna use it as a grow out for my silver aro, I will probably use the strength of the stand and build it to fit tight on all four bottom corners and the same with the canopy.

I am selling my 150g with no brace.. No problems with it either... Though it has thick glass to take place of the brace. Good luck with it the next few weeks.

Thick glass doesn't do anything for the strength of the frame corners. Those tanks are tough as hell, but over time humidity and temperature changes will degrade the strength of the corners. The on I had was just glued on the corners. It'll probably be ok, but it's worth the extra effort to keep all that water in the tank LOL.

Thanks to this sites DIY forums the tank has been since been sealed, the stand has been constructed (just yesterday), and I swapped it with the 55 that was in my room. The play sand hasn't quite settled yet, and I have yet to acquire the driftwood and live plants that will eventually be going in this set up. Right now the only stocking is 8 inch arowana (just a grow out), 5 inch common pleco, and a tiny convict that was intended to be a feeder and my aro paid it no attention. There's also a 20 long with 2 1-2" FH fry underneath it, when the aro moves to his final home they will migrate to the 75. Here's a couple of pics.
