im lookin to get a arowana for me... i need to no how big of a tank? and will the silver arowana be a good pick?

I have been led to believe that a silver aro is your only choice in Florida. Silver aros grow very quickly 1 to 1.5" per month on average. Once they get to 24" there growth does slow.

So within 18 months or so you will need to have a tank large enough for a 2 foot fish. Eventually the aro will grow to well over 30". So recommended tank would be a 180g 6x2x2 foot tank then upgrading to a 300g 8x2.5x2 foot after a few years.

Learn as much as possible before getting an arowana. This is not a beginner fish.

looks like i will have to wait some time dont realy have the space for that now or the money to get a new tank that size..i didnt no they grew that fast but thanks for the help..

so how long can one stay in a 75g tank ?? i was lookin to get a baby one if anything..

A baby, if properly cared for, would outgrow the 75 in less than a year.

I would be ok upto about 16". If it grows on the slow side it'll need a new tank in about a year, but could need the larger tank within 8 months.

you couldgo with slower growing species like jardinis or blacks.
