I want to upgrade my 29G tank (30x18x12), and wil gladly sell it. However, I want tokeep the light, simply because it's fairly new, and a Catalina 24x4 which I got at a great price. Now, I'm loking for an aquarium that I can use this lighting on (sounds kind of backwards), but holds more water. I've looked online, and I've read that 40G breeders are 30 1/3 wide, just longer.I happen to love these long aquariums, just never got one. I've also read they're 36" wide. Whats the deal? Since I cant find the legs to extend the light to 36, I guess I'm stuck to a max of 32".
So, is the 40G 30 or 36 inches wide
And, is ther a souce for aquarium lights that extend more than the typical 2"

just get the glass tops and place the light on that.

When talking about aquariums, the width is the measurment from front to back. The length is from side to side, and the height is up and down.

40g Breeders are 36" Long x 18" Wide x 16" Tall
