None of the catfish will eat the crap of other fish, not on purpose anyway and most catfish crap a lot themselves. Should you still want one I would suggest a bullhead, they generally grow between 12 and 20".

I would be careful with whatever you buy. The aro could either eat the cat, or the cat could eat the aro. I have a 4" Pseudopimelodus bufonius, that can eat a 6" silverside. And I am sure the aro is no slouch at fitting large food items in it's mouth. Plus you have to consider rates of growth. How fast does the aro grow in comparison to the cat, or the cat compared to the aro.

Go with an Asian Bumble Bee or a Sun Cat. They both get about 8"
