Looking for a good tool to clean algae from 240 gallon acrylic tank

I started up my 240 gallon almost 4 weeks ago and it' starting to grow brown algae around the tank. The tank is in my living where it gets a lot of light. But no direct sunlight. I don't overfeed the fish. Feed them once in the morning and once in the evening time. I was wondering whats the best tool to clean the tank without scratching the inside of the tank. I have read mixed reviews about the magfloats. If it's something with a handle. Do any of you know a handle that reach with ease the front, back and sides of the tank without scratching it. Please help. Thanks

I use a sponge. Also have a scrubber on a long handle from petsmart. If its brown it is probably diatoms.... Oto's love it!

This car wash brush works extremely well. It gets into the corners. The bristles are soft. The head of the brush is surrounded with soft rubber, so there is no way the brush can damage the acrylic of the tank. I can reach every part of my 300 gallon tank with this brush.

There is also a brush with an expandable handle. I'll be using it on my big tank.

Hello; This seems likely to be overfeeding from my experience. Having been guilty of such feeding in the past decades, I have slowly learned to reduce the amounts and feedings. I feed one time in any single day and skip a couple of days each week. Some issues that were a problem in the past have been much reduced or are gone all together. No more large snail populations for one. Just mt 2 cents worth, so feel free to disregard.

I only feed once a day at night and I have a terrible brown algae (diatom) problem. I scrub it down once a week lol. It doesnt hurt but indeed a eye sore.

I have the same brownish/orange algae in my 125 gallon, and I am only feeding twice a day. I'll clean the tank thoroughly and then it'll be back days later. I wonder if it's from leaving the lights on for too long?

Nahh. I believe brown algae does better with less light. People say it goes away on its own but Ive never had such luck.
