Sorry about your experience big train. That petsmart info is incredibly useful as well. I will have to try that out. Thanks for the suggestions/links everyone.

As mentioned take your print out to Petsmart & if they have what you need at the store not just their web site, then that can be hard to beat. Just took a BigAls (don't have 1 in my state) ad in for some filter media spent $29 & saved $42 (reg. price would have been $71) over any other store/site, almost feels illegal sometimes.

What ever you do don't think that any one place will always have the best prices all round all the time, all of them fluctuate often, like daily, wkly, mnthly. 10 min.'s of searching the web saved me about 140%, hell I'd spend an hr. or more searchin for those saving's. 
you have to be careful with trying to pricematch at Petsmart with ads from other companies. all Petsmarts have to match the Petsmart online price, but it seems that matching to any other company is up to the manager's discretion at each individual store. my experience is some will and some won't.
You are correct. We, Petsmart, do price check on everything, other then live animals and services. But it is also true that the stores dont always have everything that is available online!
