This is what I was thinking and would really like to do. Either that or a EBJD. I know it's questionable but either fish stuff be the only resident in the tank.

I have a 45g tank that is 36"x13"x21". I would like to put just a single fish could I put in there? Any suggestions?

Some good options and not so good options here. My personal opinion is not to get anything that grows beyond 8" total length as more than that would make for a very cramped space.

Remember most fish wont ever get to their max size, ive never seen a 12 inch jd fir example... not trying to derail here but worth a mention...

I know this is a weird question, I was just curious because I have the tank running empty since I moved the africans that were in it to another tank. So a JD or GT would be ok?
