What kind of eel did you have previously?? I've always like the fire eel.. but I'm almost sure that your rank will not be big enough in the long run.. but not really sure... Will there be any tank mates?

IDK. Maybe instead of restarting a eel hobby, U should start a polypterus bichir keeping hobby. cool fish and very eel like.

Do you plan on upgrading your tank size? If so, I'd go with either another TT, or a fire eel. If not, then you still have a ton of options:

Macrognathus aculeatus

Macrognathus circumcinctus

Macrognathus aral

Macrognathus zebrinus

Macrognathus siamensis (the most common spiny)

Macrognathus pancalus

Mastacembelus dayii

And there are many African species that would work as well, but they are less common than the Asians, and I'm not as familiar with the various Africans.
