I've been trolling around the arowna section for a few days. I found an absolutely beautiful picture of a very dark black Arow with red, nearly blood red, fins. Amazing coloring.

I'm trying to find that picture again and wondering what species it is. A Black Arow would be the obvious choice but I'm just learning about Arows so I'm not sure.

Thank you in advance for any replies.

Anyone?

Happy Thanksgiving

It looked kinda like this guy. Only full grown.

Owner says this a young silver in his post in the photo section. I'm assuming that if its a silver it will lighten up as it ages. Is that correct?

Lighting will often give false images as to what fish really look like.

Ah. Well I know lighting, diet, and such can affect colors.

So is that indeed a silver in that picture?

I'm more interested in the red fins. Are there any non-asian varieties that have red fins like that?

I like the look of silvers and blacks. But specimens with accented colors really look amazing. Obviously an Asian is top choice there. But they are still illigal in the US as of yet. So unless one of you canadian members can help out I'm out of luck there. :asianarow

I prefer the body shape of the silvers, blacks.

And I hear that Jardinis are rather more aggressive then others.

I wish there were someone near me in Washington here that would allow me to come see their fish for a while.
