Satanoperca Jurupari is recognized by NO colorful markings upon the body.

The "true" Jurupari is a grey/silver fish with two or three marking lines that run from the jaw to the eye socket.

That being said, the "true" Jurupari, though it is very much sought after, is the most boring fish in the Satanoperca/Geophagus assemblage.

thats what i was thinking

He looks alot like a Jurupari. The darker brown markings on the face esp.
If I am not mistaken real jurupari are harder to find? Alot like true Green Terrors and Gold Saum.
I believe they are actually called Satanoperca jurupari, not Geophagus.

They are now known as Satanoperca jurupari, no joke, no debate. Real Jurupari are harder to find, but they are uglier/plainer than any other Satanoperca/Geophagus.

yeah he was an impulse buy, a bday gift to myself. Always wanted an eartheater and heard the jurupari were smaller and more mellow, or is there a smaller more mellow eartheater i should get for my bolivian ram tank
