So I'm not sure what I want to get for a top level swimmer for my setup. I have 2 rays and two AT's which pretty much just stay on the bottom of the tank. I would love to have an arowana but with the space limitations not sure I want to get a 4' silver. I've also looked into possibly a florida gar but I'm not sure on that either

how big is ur tank?

Hello; I do not know what limitations you face with compatability issues but my understanding is that top swimmers often have a mouth that is turned up like an arrowana. That may be a clue. Archer fish fit but I am not sure if they get to be a size that you can use.

If you have rays and at im guessing your tank is a good size ? What about gars or a aro ? Asian aro's generally smaller get one of those

Cant get an asian here, and silvers get far to big, 4' if I remember right. And from research jardini's are smaller but a little bit more of a pain. Thought about a florida gar just not sure on aggression. tank is 8x2.5 or will be once I pick it up, just placed the order today

just go with a gar or two, aren't horribly active and should fit easily if you can house those rays

Get a black aro. They grow slower than the silvers and aren't as bulky. I've never seen one over 2 feet as of yet

then you need to do more research! in general they grow just as fast and grow to the same length but not as bulky, some member here have some really big (30''+) so if he doesn't want a silver, he shouldn't get a black!
gars is the way to go!

^lol yea thats a no for sure then. I'll most likely just pick up a florida gar then. I was trying to find something different that would work with the dats and rays but oh well.
