Looking for advice on how to improve this scape

My one issue is that due to my turtle it's hard to utilize the upper portion of the tank for scaping.

Thanks! The cichlids tear both of those apart unfortunately.

Thanks guys, I like it myself but feel like it needs something to take it to the next level. Maybe more terrestrial roots in the water or dried botanicals.

And Steve, it's a three stripe mud turtle. I've had him for 3 years almost and never had an issue with fish compatibility. Really enjoy the dynamic it brings to the tank.

One of the locals just offered me a turtle he found in the stream in the jungle above our place, for the reason that it would tear up the planted decor, and eventually eat my cichlids, we took just enough time for a turtle photo op, I gave Gamboa a beer and asked him to take in back to where he found it.
