looking for an interesting oddball fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
freshwater morey eel is most likely gymthorax tile (sp?), a brackish water species, up to full marine. I had one for a while, tough to get to eat on non-live...he just kind of whithered away.

Consider an Electric Catfish *caution* predatory
Freshwater Flounder
BumbleBee Catfish *caution* fiesty and prey on anything half it's size
Archer Fish (Toxotes jac.)
Belonesox
Mudminnow
StickleBack

Just a few suggestions off the top of my head.
Respectfully,

Archerfish are pretty bad. I saw them on discovery channel once. was pretty amazed to see them at my LFS one day. I knew nothing about them (except that they spit water up to 1.5m at bugs), and neither did the guy at the store, so I just left them alone.

BGK need a 90g.

I hope that GSP is going into it's own 30g BW tank?

Yeah, they're found in the Congo, so they would go great with a butterfly fish, an elephant nose, some upside-down catfish, and I'd also like to add some twig catfish (Farlowella spp.) along with the most excellent ropefish that's already there (but wants a rope-y friend). Now I'm starting to think that the Ram might stick out a lot in this African oddball tank. The twig cats are S.A. but they look like they belong, shhhhh... we won't tell. Maybe we will also need a larger tank, a 125 would do nicely....

Congo tetras would be great for the tank I was describing, except for this:
