Looking for Aquarium Landscaping Design Ideas for Cichlids

just get creative with it... Do something you NEVER thought you would do/use/try/like. IE I have in my tank 2 medium size drift wood then ONE HUGE one that doesnt sink and floats around at the top... Makes cool shadows, looks diffrent, makes fish happy.

Whats the stock? I would start by removing the pots. I would then add more driftwood and an assortment of rocks from larger boulders to river rock and natural colored gravel.

It looks like your using traditional florescent bulbs as well. Try placing pieces of tin foil around parts of the bulbs to block portions of light in order to create an interesting effect...

Here was my last stage of the community tank. About 4 months ago. I was sick of cleaning the bio load of like 70 fish every few days so I scrapped the entire thing and moved to arowanas. This is a 180 gallon btw.

That is all individual pieces of lace rock stacked carefully. I had over 200 lbs of it in there by the end of it all. I would change the rocks around every once in a while and make it different to change the look completely.
