you can try monster aquarium, they have them in stock.

just my two cents, the bigger ones dont move around a lot and are not active and schooling about like the smaller ones, so while they are impressive size wise, they dont add any action to the tank. this is from my own experience keeping them, and from talking to aquarium store owners that sell them.

Wild fish over 4" are only exported illegally (exports from Indonesia banned to protect breeding stocks since 2002 according to a member on here from Jakarta who is an exporter) and do not acclimatise well (terribly actually, 77% mortality according to people who have done it at huge cost e.g. top people on here, Aquarium Coop etc.).

Best to rear your own (!) or if impatient purchase ones reared by others and brought back to the shop.

I believe mine stopped growing at age 22. They are now 27. Largest 11.5 inches, smallest 6 inches. All purchased as yearlings in 1997.

Sadly, everyone will be old men by that time and not all of their loaches will reach that size. Most do not get past 7-8" size.

how big are yours? can you post a pic
Sure. I haven't measured but maybe 8 to 9 inches on the largest not. Hard to take a photo since I just did a tank transfer and getting a bacterial bloom. Tank is 36 inches wide for perspective.

They definitely stay as a whole group and feed together... Large and small. Maybe I'm just lucky? Can you share you experience with them and your setup? Maybe we can all learn from it.
