i emailed a guy from craigslist who is willing to drive his two pacu all the way from maine down to me. he says their 12 years old:WHOA: and if i remember only just over 12"

still willing to take in 1 more if anyone comes across one in desperate need. seeing my one remaining pacu just staying in a corner after my other one died, made me realize even more these guys need to be kept in groups.
Be careful with that man. 12yrs at 12'" is totally stunted/deprived fish. They may not even make it to you on the trip.

Hey pm me bro my friend lives in Newark prob your closet bet... 14 inch red belly and he's gotta downgrade his 180 soon so this is perfect

If they are stunted that badly I would be really worried about water quality. Be sure to measure the GH, and nitrates and be prepared to acclimate carefully. It may take you 2 weeks to get them into water that is clean enough to let them go in your tank. Osmotic shock is almost never reversible. If you need or want help doing the 2 week transition, let me know. I have done it 4 times now with out loosing a fish. All four times both the GH and nitrates were over the capacity of the API liquid kit to measure AFTER I had cut the water down to 25% their tank water and 75% clean water.

Hey, I run a Non Profit Aquatic Rescue here in Wisconsin. Too bad you are so far away. I have two that are over 20" right now and two smaller ones. I have a lady who called and left me a message I believe was from New York and said she had one that was a child to her that she longer can keep and has outgrown her 180. That if she found a great home for him that would be in a larger tank, she would donate her 180 as well. Not sure, but think she wanted him to go to like an aquarium or something...you know a BIG aquarium like zoo type. But if you are interested shoot me a pm and I can give you her number. Kelly

Well, I guess scrap that idea. In the process of trying to find a home for her Pacu, it pretty much committed suicide. She said her pacu was not happy in the tank and kept trying to get out and kept breaking the top glass as she would jump. Well her wounds were too deep this last time so they put her "down". Man, I hate that. Again, too bad you are so far away. My two would love your big tank.

those 12yr old guys dident pan out, so still looking for pacu.

why is it when i wasent looking, there were threads every other day on CL and here?? lol
